Thousands of police officers throughout Southern California and Nevada hunted Thursday for a former Los Angeles officer who was angry over his firing and began a deadly shooting rampage that he warned in an online posting would target those on the force who wronged him, authorities said.

Authorities issued a statewide “officer safety warning” and police were sent to protect people named in the posting that was believed to be written by the fired officer, Christopher Dorner, who has military training. Among those mentioned were members of the Los Angeles Police Department.

“I will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform whether on or off duty,” said the manifesto.

Dorner has available multiple weapons including an assault rifle, said police Chief Charlie Beck.

More than 40 protection details were assigned to possible targets of Dorner. The manhunt was possibly the largest in department history, Beck said.

The search for Dorner, who was fired from the LAPD in 2008 for making false statements, began after he was linked to a weekend killing in which one of the victims was the daughter of a former police captain who had represented him during the disciplinary hearing. Authorities believe Dorner opened fire early Thursday on police in cities east of Los Angeles, killing an officer and wounding another.

Police said Dorner, 33, implicated himself in the killings with the multi-page “manifesto.”

Thousands are searching for him -lol

At least it's not another skinny white nerd.
LAPD open fire on a BLUE pickup truck with two asian women, unarmed.

Then, they open fire on a BLACK pickup truck, which the driver did not fit the suspect's description. In fact, the officer who opened fire stated he believed DORNER was in the PASSENGER seat.

In this both cases, the police opened fire, UNLOADING on trucks, without positively ID'ing the suspect.

It is OBVIOUS orders have been given to SHOOT ON SIGHT!! They don't whant this guy ALIVE!!
No Court, No Trial, No Judge or Jury, they whant him DEAD.
Does DORNER has damning evidence, and the authorities want him DEAD?!

He sound rational with nothing to loose and he surely knows they will kill him. He must have gotten the ass end of a scandal/cover up.

In a Facebook post, Dorner said he knew he would be vilified by the LAPD and the news media, but that “unfortunately, this is a necessary evil that I do not enjoy but must partake and complete for substantial change to occur within the LAPD and reclaim my name.”
Thanks Edd for finding that link for the live feed!

Has anyone been keeping up with the death count ?(hate to sound so morbid) but who has killed more innocent ppl so far, the crazy ex-cop or the crazy current cops? I think crazy ex-cop is 2 & crazy current cops are just shooting up anyone unlucky enough to be driving a dark colored pick up truck!! 2 maybe 3? Looks like the crazy current cops are in the lead to me!!

Yes.

The guy could be a whistleblower. They could be villifing him for what he knows. He may be completely innocent of any wrong doing.

The media are proven liars. It's hard to trust anything they say. People need to keep an open mind.

Exactly, If this ex-cop was just a bad apple & wanted to kill lots of ppl he could have done so already. If he is some wack-o, he wouldnt have the clear cut thinking to carry out any of this so far. It seems like someone wants him dead & dont care how many innocent ppl have to suffer/die in order to get the job done!!

Two Women Shot in Vehicle Mistaken for Dorner’s

TORRANCE, Calif. — Los Angeles and Torrance Police were involved in two shootings in Torrance Thursday during the manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer.

The shootings happened after police came across vehicles they thought might belong to suspect Christopher Jordan Dorner, 33.

The first incident happened about 5:30 a.m. in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue. It involved Los Angeles police detectives from the Hollywood division.

Two women delivering newspapers were struck by gunfire. They were taken to area hospitals, Torrance police said.

One was shot in the hand and the other in the back, according to Jesse Escochea, who captured video of the victims being treated.

Police said the women were riding in a truck similar to the one that Dorner is believed to be driving — a blue or gray Nissan Titan.

Their blue pickup was riddled with bullet holes and what appeared to be newspapers were scattered in the street.

The second incident, which involved Torrance police officers, happened around 5:45 a.m. at Flagler Lane and Beryl Street. No injuries were reported in that incident

Smells like he is praising these people so they can be dragged through the mud... I can dig it lol.
***** the LAPD....go Dorner!
I could not make it through this guy's whole manifesto, as much as I wanted to. What I did get from it, is that he is not batsh!t crazy. He is smart enough to be long gone by now, but who knows?

With any luck, vigilantism will become a social meme within the minion class, and more will join him, roving the city at night, taking out crooked cops and meter maids.

As this no doubt feels like a real life 'The Fugitive' unraveling before our eyes, I submit that if they REALLY wanted to find him, they would bring in Tommy Lee Jones. ...It is Southern California after all.

Anyway, here comes the lawsuits!...

Dorner manhunt: Lawyer calls shootings of paper carriers 'unacceptable'

An attorney representing two women who were delivering newspapers when they were shot by police during a massive manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer called the incident "unacceptable," saying his clients looked nothing like the suspect.

Emma Hernandez, 71, was delivering the Los Angeles Times with her daughter, Margie Carranza, 47, in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue in Torrance on Thursday morning when Los Angeles police detectives apparently mistook their pickup for that of Christopher Dorner, the 33-year-old fugitive suspected of killing three people and injuring two others.
