"Two Geophysicists Weigh in on Florida’s Fracking Dilemma"

Florida is on the front lines of a debate over the spread of the controversial drilling technique hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, which raises a crucial question: are the state’s unique geology and hydrology safe for expanded oil and gas drilling? Over the past several months, a number of counties and cities in Florida have banned fracking over environmental concerns. Earlier this year, the state legislature considered but did not pass a bill to regulate fracking at the state level, which would have superseded local bans.

So far, there has been at least one exploratory well in Florida using fracking, but the practice is not widespread. However, the question of how and whether to allow fracking is likely to come back up again, as early as next year. How would fracking be done in Florida and what environmental and geologic questions are worth considering? A close look at the particular conditions of the Florida peninsula reveals a number of unresolved areas of concern.

RADIOACTIVE FRACKING: THE UNTOLD NATURAL GAS STORY
0
0
An original investigative report by Earth Focus and UK's Ecologist Film Unit looks at the risks of natural gas development in the Marcellus Shale. From toxic chemicals in drinking water to unregulated interstate dumping of potentially radioactive waste that experts fear can contaminate water supplies in major population centers including New York City, are the health consequences worth the economic gains? Marcellus Shale contains enough natural gas to supply all US gas needs for 14 years. But as gas drilling takes place, using a process called hydraulic fracturing or "fracking," toxic chemicals and methane gas seep into drinking water. Now experts fear that unacceptable levels of radioactive Radium 226 in gas development waste.

Fracking chemicals are linked to bone, liver and breast cancers, gastrointestinal, circulatory, respiratory, developmental as well as brain and nervous system disorders. Such chemicals are present in frack waste and may find their way into drinking water and air. Waste from Pennsylvania gas wells -- waste that may also contain unacceptable levels of radium -- is routinely dumped across state lines into landfills in New York, Ohio and West Virginia. New York does not require testing waste for radioactivity prior to dumping or treatment.

So drill cuttings from Pennsylvania have been dumped in New York's Chemung and other counties and liquid waste is shipped to treatment plants in Auburn and Watertown New York. How radioactive is this waste? Experts are calling are for testing to find out.

New York State may have been the first state in the nation to put a temporary hold on fracking pending a safety review, but it allows other states to dump toxic frack waste within its boundaries. With a gas production boom underway in the Marcellus Shale and plans for some 400,000 wells in the coming decades, the cumulative impact of dumping potential lethal waste without adequate oversight is a catastrophe waiting to happen. And now U.S. companies are exporting fracking to Europe.

Light Your Water On Fire from Gas Drilling, Fracking

Wyoming drinking water contamination caused by fracking

"Water pollution connected to fracking"
An investigation has begun to shed light on the hazards of hydraulic fracturing - or fracking - across the country. In at least four of the states that have nurtured the nation's energy boom, hundreds of complaints have been made about well-water contamination from oil or gas drilling.

Pollution was confirmed in a number of those states, according to an Associated Press review that casts doubt on industry suggestions that such problems rarely happen. RT's Meghan Lopez learns more about water pollution from fracking from Tyson Slocum, director of the Public Citizen Energy Program.

Obama administration OK’s dumping 76 Billion gallons of Wastewater into Gulf of Mexic

Fracking takes billions of clean water and leaves billions of dirty water that has no where to go. How evil is it when nuclear waste with no where to go is being poured into the ocean and now the frackers get the green light to dump away!

THERE GOES THE FISHING!

THERE GOES THE SWIMMING!

THERE GOES TAKING THE BOAT OUT!

THERE GOES THE LIFE THAT MAKE 3/4THS OF PLANET EARTH!

WHO HATES PEOPLE?

FRACKERS AND NUCLEAR THE INDUSTRY, AND THEY ARE SHOWING THE WORLD THAT ALL THAT LIVES WILL SOON BE DESTROYED BY THE WASTE PRODUCTS THAT HAVE NO PLACE TO GO, SO THEY ARE NOW BEING DUMPED INTO THE OCEANS.

GREED WON'T STOP FOR LIFE!

NUCLEAR RADIATIONS BY THE TONS IS POURING INTO THE PACIFIC OCEAN FROM A NUCLEAR PLANT THAT NO ONE CAN FIX, AND YET THE WORLD IS BUILDING MORE - CAN ANYONE SAY INSANITY?

"IDIOCRACY"
THE MOVIE IS A REALITY - GIVE THEM A TELEVISION AND THEY WON'T CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO THE WORLD THEY LIVE IN.

Obama administration OK’s dumping 76 billion gallons of wastewater into Gulf of Mexico before quietly approving hundreds of offshore fracking permits.

IS THE GULF OF MEXICO THE NEW WASTE DUMP SITE? A WORLD FULL OF LAWS THAT THE LAWMAKERS NEVER FOLLOW!

MONEY WINS AGAIN!

SOULS SELLING OUT!

(NaturalNews) Over the course of his presidency, Barrack Obama transformed from a politician who spoke of the need to wean the country from its dangerous dependence on oil to one who boasted of how much he had done to boost domestic oil drilling. Now documents obtained via a lawsuit reveal how the administration allowed energy companies to dump more than 76 billion gallons of toxic, radioactive fracking wastewater directly into the Gulf of Mexico — and that’s just in 2014.

Permission to dump came along with the more than 1,200 offshore fracking permits that the administration granted between 2010 and 2014. RT writes, “The Obama administration is essentially letting oil companies frack at will in Gulf ecosystems and dump billions of gallons of oil waste into coastal waters,” said Kristen Monsell, a lawyer for the Center for Biological Diversity. “Every offshore frack increases the risk to wildlife and coastal communities, yet federal officials have been just rubber-stamping this toxic practice in the Gulf of Mexico for years.”

Radioactive waste legally dumped in ocean!

Fracking, formally known as hydraulic fracturing, consists of blasting high-pressure sand, water and a secret mix of toxic chemicals into bedrock in order to “fracture” it, allowing access to the oil and gas trapped within. The water used in the fracturing flows back to the surface, contaminated with fracking chemicals as well as radioactive isotopes, volatile organics and heavy metals that leach into it from the fractured bedrock. But because of trade secrecy laws, no one knows exactly what is in this wastewater. “Nobody can say how much of any type of waste is being produced, what it is, and where it’s ending up,” said Nadia Steinzor of Earthworks, which is suing to try and force the Environmental Protection Agency to start tracking and regulating drilling waste.

This toxic brew is now being dumped by the billions of gallons into the Gulf of Mexico, courtesy of an administration that once promised to reign in the oil and gas industry. The Center for Biological Diversity learned of the practice after suing the US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s (BOEM) for failing to reveal them following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. Both agencies were created by the Obama Adminsitraiton following the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the worst oil spill in US history. Although the agencies were tasked with preventing such disasters in the future, a recent Government Accountability Office audit found that the BSEE has failed to even lay out policies or procedures for investigating violations.

Here’s Why the Navajo Nation Is Suing the EPA Over Colorado’s Mining Catastrophe
0
0
The San Juan River is one of the most sacred and agriculturally important areas to the Navajo Nation. It’s also the site of a three-million-gallon toxic mine spill. This time last year, images of Colorado’s Animas River were going viral, leaving many mystified or downright disturbed by the waterway’s Willy Wonka-esque shade of golden orange. The culprit of the bizarre phenomenon: a slurry of mining chemicals which had burst from a sealed entryway to a defunct gold mine, the Gold King Mine, located upstream.

The images were met with outrage:

In the last year, there have been Congressional hearings and an ongoing criminal investigation into causes of the spill. Just this week, the Navajo Nation filed its own lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency. The Gold King Mine, one of 48 mining sites in the Bonita Peak Mining District, has been closed for almost a century. Years of mismanagement and neglect, however, caused floodwaters and extreme pressure to build at the mine’s sealed entryway, the suit alleges. When the mine burst, it sent more than three million gallons of acidic, chemical-laden sludge downstream into the San Juan River. Of all the 27,000 miles that comprise the Navajo Nation’s reservation, the San Juan River watershed, which flows from Colorado through New Mexico, may very well be the most agriculturally and spiritually rich in the reservation. “The Nation and the Navajo people have yet to have their waterways cleaned, their losses compensated, their health protected, or their way of life restored,” reads the suit, which was filed on Tuesday by the Navajo Nation in the U.S. District Court for the district of New Mexico. The EPA’s egregious neglect of the mine and its failure to properly compensate the Nation for damages, mirrors the government’s longstanding indifference toward the tribe, according to the lawsuit. Two contractors, four mining companies including Gold King Mines Corporation, and 10 other unnamed defendants are also named in the suit.

The lawsuit alleges that:

Selling off U.S. water, land, and property should be a wake up call to all Americans - Obama change for a new world order is happening - do you like it? Corportations are usining trillions of gallons of clean water to make profits at the expense of the American taxpayer. Nestle is buying up all the water around the world so they can make a profit.

Did the Creator put water up for sale?

Deception is growing and world leaders now showing the people how they play the game of "Diplomacy". Sold in the 1950's, the game that only goverment, politician, and the new world order are playing with real lives - YOURS!

How can China be the enemy when they own so much of U.S. property? - "DIPLOMACY"

With the United States as well as the rest of the world suffering from water drought, President Obama is allowing China, as well as the rest of the world, to tap perhaps our country's greatest natural resource, fresh water.

Seems like everybody has a yen to feather their own nests with whatever they can grab.....
This applies to cities, states, countries, banks, corporations et al.....
The idea of creating a world fit for humans has gone by the board long ago............
Instead we climb on top of each other in a selfish rush to escape the rising waters of our own self inflicted doom.
We are busy cannibalising whats left of value in any and every above mentioned entities,
and when that is finally too depleted to support the system,it must come down hard.

Hundreds of Acres of Ohio’s Only National Forest to be Leased for Fracking - The NWO!
0
0
In a $1.7 million dollar deal, more than 700 acres of Ohio’s only national forest is being leased for fracking. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has decided to go ahead with their plans to auction off thousands of acres of the forest, despite heavy public opposition. On Wednesday, the BLM announced that they have leased 769 acres of land to fossil fuel development companies in Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Colorado and Oklahoma. The companies will still need to obtain a permit before drilling can begin. The online auction took place on December 13. Participants bid between $2 and $5,806.12 per acre.

The potential deal was originally announced last month, with the BLM planning an online auction to lease the first 1,600 acres of Wayne National Forest near Monroe, Noble and Washington counties to oil and gas development. The BLM could end up auctioning 40,000 acres total. After the deal was announced there was a 30-day comment period in which the BLM received more than 17,000 comments from opponents, citing concerns of public health and effects on air and water quality. It may come as a surprise to some that the BLM decided to go along with their plan immediately after the EPA released their report confirming that fracking can poison water sources. According to EcoWatch, the decision was made based on environmental assessment and research that is 11 years old.

The 2006 Environmental Assessment, which the BLM and United States Forest Service are using to uphold their decision, did not evaluate the impacts of fracking. There is still some time for opponents to file a formal protest. Many groups, including:

NO Water No FOOD Starvation Chemtrails Monsanto Bankers Fracking

Starvation Chemtrails Monsanto Bankers Fracking The very essentials needed to sustain life on earth are being recklessly destroyed by these programs. This is not a topic that will begin to affect us in several years, but is now already causing massive animal and plant die off around the world, as well as human illness.

The debate over whether geoengineering programs are going on is now a moot point. We have more than enough data to confirm it. We have actual footage showing tankers spraying. The materials showing up on the ground are exactly the same materials mentioned in the numerous geoengineering patents and documents. Visit our website for a list of these government patents and documents.

Our skies today are simply not normal. Upon examination this cannot be denied. They are filled with nanoparticulates of heavy metals. But the skies have been filled with grid patterns for so long now that we are used to them and do not see them anymore. Sadly, the fact is that people do not look up.

To be clear, what we are seeing is not cloud seeding to increase rainfall. These particulates are designed to block the sun and move the jet stream. Dane explains how this is causing the drought and deluge being experienced around the globe.

Our atmosphere is nothing but a massive physics lab to geoengineering scientists who have no concern whatsoever about the consequences to humanity or any living thing, including themselves. The experiments are literally tearing the planet apart and destroying life on earth.

Dane reports, among other things, on:

• Geoengineering related climate disruptions, extreme drought and deluge
• Ozone depletion
• Methane release
• Drastic reduction in arctic sea ice
• Global oxygen content reductions
• Oceans on the brink of collapse
• Massive fish die offs
• 200 species becoming extinct every single day
• A drastic rise in Autism, Alzheimer's, and Dementia
• Crisis level forest reductions
• The sterilization of soils making it impossible for plants to grow without Monsanto's aluminum resistant seeds

Common Law vs. Corporatocracy in Pennsylvania:
0
0
We start the new year by examining the vision of a new society and one struggle to achieve it. In Grant Township, Pennsylvania, local citizens are uniting across party lines to use common law to reclaim their political power. In what is perhaps America’s first law that legalizes direct action, this Township passed an ordinance permitting non-violent civil disobedience aimed at stopping local frack wastewater injection wells. The Township has also passed a Home Rule law that transfers authority over many matters from the state to local government. But the fracking companies are fighting back and seeking an injunction against the Township in federal courts. Will local self-government win against the Corporatocracy? Ffind out from the front line activists in Grant Township, who are today’s guests. With your regular host Kevin Annett. This program will be followed by others that address the movement for personal, political and spiritual Reclamation.

‘Tsunami of Sewage Spills’ at Mexican Border ‘Deliberate,’ says California Mayor
0
0
The massive sewage spill in Tijuana, Mexico that polluted Southern California beaches last month appeared to be a deliberate move, a local official said. More than 140 million gallons of sewage spilled into the Tijuana River in Mexico that flowed into the Pacific Ocean on the U.S. side of the border. The spill, which spanned from Feb. 4 to Feb. 23, was caused during repairs to a major sewer pipe, the International Boundary and Water Commission said

Serge Dedina, the mayor of Imperial Beach which is located about 10 miles outside Tijuana, told the Los Angeles Times the spill looks like it was “deliberate.” “It saves (the Mexican agencies) a lot of money in pumping costs, and ultimately, they can get away with it and do it all the time, just on a much smaller scale,” Dedina said. He described the incident as the “tsunami of sewage spills.”

Hidden Oil Spill Has Been Going For 14 Years, Is About to Overtake The BP Disaster
0
0
An oil spill that has been quietly leaking millions of barrels into the Gulf of Mexico has gone unplugged for so long that it now verges on becoming one of the worst offshore disasters in US history. Between 300 and 700 barrels of oil per day have been spewing from a site 12 miles (19 kilometres) off the Louisiana coast since 2004, when an oil-production platform owned by Taylor Energy sank in a mudslide triggered by Hurricane Ivan. Many of the wells have not been capped, and federal officials estimate that the spill could continue through this century.

With no fix in sight, the Taylor offshore spill is threatening to overtake BP's Deepwater Horizon disaster as the largest ever. As oil continues to spoil the Gulf, the Trump administration is proposing the largest expansion of leases for the oil and gas industry, with the potential to open nearly the entire outer continental shelf to offshore drilling. That includes the Atlantic coast, where drilling hasn't happened in more than a half century and where hurricanes hit with double the regularity of the Gulf.

Expansion plans come despite fears that the offshore oil industry is poorly regulated and that the planet needs to decrease fossil fuels to combat climate change, as well as the knowledge that 14 years after Ivan took down Taylor's platform, the broken wells are releasing so much oil that researchers needed respirators to study the damage. "I don't think people know that we have this ocean in the United States that's filled with:

FOX 13 News - Tampa Bay Published on Oct 11, 2018

A team of scientists and students from the University of South Florida have spent the past seven years looking at what lies beneath the Gulf of Mexico since the 2010 Deepwater Horizon environmental disaster. "We found a big contrast in the type of species that exist in the Gulf because the environmental conditions are different and we've also taken a number of samples to look at oil contamination," said lead researcher Dr. Steven Murawski.
