"California Back in Big Oil's Crosshairs as Feds Quietly OK Offshore Fracking & the Use of Millions of Gallons of Fresh Water.

"This move paves the way for offshore fracking permits that were previously frozen and the dumping of toxic wastewater directly into the Pacific Ocean." Two federal agencies on Friday quietly finalized two reports, set for release next week, that found offshore fracking in California poses no "significant" risk to the environment—paving the way for oil and gas companies to resume the controversial extraction method in the Santa Barbara Channel and imperiling the region's wildlife in the process, opponents said.

The announcement Friday from the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (OEM) and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement puts an end to a court-ordered ban on offshore fracking in federal waters off the coast of California. The moratorium was put into place in January as part of a settlement with the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD), which challenged the Obama administration's 'rubber-stamping' of offshore drilling activity without an environmental review.

Environmental activists warned on Friday that kicking off a new round of drilling in the area puts wildlife at risk from chemical-laden wastewater and said they would be willing to file another lawsuit to keep it from happening.

"The Obama administration is once again putting California's beautiful coast in the oil industry's crosshairs," said Miyoko Sakashita, director of CBD's Oceans program. "Our beaches and wildlife face a renewed threat from fracking chemicals and oil spills. New legal action may be the only way to get federal officials to do their jobs and protect our ocean from offshore fracking." Wenonah Hauter, executive director of the environmental advocacy group Food & Water Watch, criticized President Barack Obama for "doubling down on fracking, instead of providing climate leadership and protecting our communities and our environment."

Fracking Pollutes California Water While Individuals Suffer - Take back campaign

Billions of gallons contaminated - Corruption in government like everyplace else? - As California lawmakers decide if resident ‘water wasters’ should face jail time as a drought strikes the state, water agencies are busy working on higher rates and fees to penalize individual residents. This is happening while the act of hydraulic fracturing is polluting massive amounts of water in the state. As the main facilitator in the pollution of California’s two biggest fresh water aquifers, the real question is: “who will report California Governor Jerry Brown?”

Directly, because of Governor Brown, fracking wastewater has been allowed to pollute key aquifers that contain high-quality water protected under the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. This is a federal act that appears to be vestigial showing little repercussions to some of Governor Brown’s biggest campaign donors; big oil and natural gas interests. During Governor Brown’s recent announcement of an executive order to curb the drought, he lectured Californians to change their water habits, putting him at the top of elite level hypocrites.

After receiving $2.49 million in direct contributions from big oil and natural gas interests, Governor Brown signed into law Senate Bill 4 (SB4) despite widespread opposition from the public; the same public he now lectures to. SB4, signed in September 2013, required California state regulators to approve all fracking permit requests.

Drought-Stricken California Exempts Big Oil and Big Ag from Mandatory Restrictions

Corporation exempt from water restrictions - This is what one might have thought. If not now, then under the TPP corporations would have the right to sue the state for non-compliance with agreements. California may be unfit for human habitation soon, but at least Big Oil and Big Ag will have extracted their profits.

You've been lied to for so long, it will be some what upsetting to learn what you will about your water in the documentary below. The only person that is really going to make a difference for you and the ones you love, is YOU! Those who have been put into positions of trust and power, only looking at money and not at the health and safety of the people they have sworn to protect. I would have to say most don't know what you are about to learn. Hope you will educate them and the whole family. A great way to spend the evening all together and have something to talk about after you watch a documentary about the water you drink, cook with, swim in, and bath in.

The water isn't what the people of D. C. have to worry about, but the leadership and the truth of what is really happening in the U.S.. Water in America is being contaminated and the management of it seems to be like the rest of government. If you live in D.C., you may have to boil your water. DC Water is advising tens of thousands of residents and businesses in a major portion of the city not to drink or cook with tap water without boiling it because of a contamination risk.
