Great, Thats just Lovely!! My worst fear is death by Ka-bar. Seriously, I am scared of those things! (You dont have to say it, I already know I aint right, but those knives look freakin' painful)

Our black-belt training included Katana, and, yeah they are a bit frightening. I actually prefer using the Bo-staff, but it comes in handy for more than just hitting.

I would argue you might want to keep a Machete on you at all times like a side arm. A well trained sword fighter with in 3 feet of you could cause a lot of problems. This of course will come down to training and skill. Gun to Gun fight some one is usually moving away from the fight.

Sword vs Gun if its close quarters which is the majority of the gun fights; the sword or machete could prove to be a formidable weapon.

Yes at that distance its a no contest; this is where skill comes into play. The sword carrier would have to be more crafty; I would think; and get much closer before launching his attack.....
